Barham Primary School, London

At the beginning of January, Story Drawing Club went to visit the budding artists at Barham Primary School where over two consecutive afternoons the children worked in groups with the writer and illustrator to create their very own illustrated stories.

Day 1

On day one the pupils worked with the illustrator to draw portraits and then worked in groups with the writer to create their short stories.

Portraits

The pupils used charcoal to draw their portraits - we were short on time but the group did so well to complete their drawings in the time given.

Painting scenes

In the final session the pupils painted the scenes for their stories, using mixed media to create some wonderfully imaginative paintings. Prina from Year 2 at Barham said "it was the best art I've ever done!"
